Tumbler Ridge
The day I read about the horrific tragedy at Tumble Ridge, I quietly wept. I wept for the children. I wept for the parents. I sat in my knowledge of the After they had just entered into and my heart broke for them. I believe that every parent out there who has lost a child had the same response. We do not want anyone to join us in this tattered union of parents. We do not. And what we would want the Tumbler Ridge parents to know is that we are here. We are out here, we know, and we will be here to help you in any way that we can.
Bob Pierce (World Vision) shared this prayer, "Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God". It was later put into lyrics by Brooke Ligertwood as "Break my heart for what breaks yours". As God's heart is truly broken by this senseless, unbearable tragedy, so our hearts are also. We now have to allow God to use our broken hearts to be a help and comfort for those in need.
