Hope

Today I want to leave a message of hope for all those who are just beginning this journey of grief. In the first few days, weeks and months it feels like the pain will engulf us. The shock, the loss, the shattering of our hearts is all we can focus on. It's been almost four years since Mikael died and I still remember those days. It's hard to believe during this time that anything will change or that you will ever feel joy again. My message today is that you will. The grief you carry won't disappear but the way you carry it will change. The way it sits in your heart will be different. As you walk with God on this journey, he'll guide you in his purpose for you and provide you with many moments of joy. There will still be times when you feel overwhelmed with sorrow and grief but you'll also be able to keep stepping forward. You will grow around your grief in ways that surprise you. And I can promise you this, God will never leave you.
